Who God Really is
(Some of His Characteristics)
"What would Jesus do?" was a question made popular by Charles Sheldon and his book titled "In His Steps". To do what Jesus would do, one must know what he was like, and how he acted. It is also important to have knowledge of the Characteristics of God if we wish to have victory in spiritual warfare. So let's get started.
Who really is God?
1. God is Love.
1 John 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.2. God is Caring.
1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.3. God is Good.
Mark 10:18 - And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.4. God is Perfect.
Matthew 5:48 - Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
5. God is Holy.
1 Peter 1:15-16 - But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.6. God is Righteous.
1 John 2:29 - If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.7. God is all-powerful. Matthew 19:26 - But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
8. God is all-knowing.
9. God is all-present.
10. God is Kind. Titus 3:4-6 - But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
11. God is Eternal. Psalm 90:2 - Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
