The Productive Year Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive year. I have enjoyed talking about productivity for the last few weeks. I know a lot more could probably be said about productivity, but this is my last episode about productivity. I am such a busy person I got so much going on, and I am doing so much, I hope my busy schedule is not affecting any of my projects or podcasts. Being busy is not necessarily a sign of being productive. I try not to multitask, but I am working on a Bible website, and I do a show title "My Sister Named Faith", besides doing this podcast. What is multitasking? Is it doing multiple things at the same time? Or is it doing multiple things with the same life? Or living different lives at the same time? Or is it trying to do too much in too little time? I don't know but I do know that multitasking is not good for productivity. My biggest prayer for my summer and my life is that it is a productive one. And as I have talked about in previous weeks, if it is not God's will, you are wasting your time. One of my biggest struggles in life is knowing the will of God. One note that I jotted down this week in my notebook is. Lord help me to focus on what matters. I jotted down a few other notes this week… We need to be productive regardless of circumstances. This year sure did not play out the way I PLANNED it to. I thought I was going to be working at Riverside this summer. I thought I was going to do a book signing event this spring. But Covid-19 changed my planes. I have had to make new plans. To be productive you need to be intentional. Have you spent enough time with God? Have you spent enough time with people? Is there anything you wish you had done differently? We live in such a fast paced word. Don't let your days, weeks, months, and years fly by. Without using your mind to think. Without using your body to be productive.

What is the worst thing that could happen to you? I can't remember if I did an episode about that before. Hi, my name is N.C.R. and today I am at the Hillview cemetery with another episode of Cemetery Reflections. Today I just wanted to ask a few questions to help you think. What is the worst thing that could happen to you? (Supposing the answer is death.) What is the worst thing that could happen to you before you die? What is the worst thing that you could do before you die? What is the worst thing that could happen to you after you die? What is the best thing that could happen to you? What is the best thing that could happen to you before you die? What is the best thing that you could do before you die? What is the best thing that could happen to you after you die? One of the worst things that could happen to you... You could die without knowing God. You could die without having a relationship with God. I had this verse in my notes, but forgot it: "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." - Psalms 127:1 KJV The Productive Week - My notes
Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive week. You can do much more in a week than you can in a day. If you have been tuning into this series then you know that I have talked about the productive second, minute, hour, and day so far. As I think about the productive things I can talk about in the future, I wonder if I should stop here. (I probably won't) I don't know about you, but there is a lot of time in a week. And well to be honest, I don't think that I use all the time in my week wisely. But there is something about seeing the bigger picture. Sure there may be times in a week when I am not being productive, sure there may be times in a week when it seems as if I am wasting time. But what I like about seeing the bigger picture is that there was definitely time in the week when I was being productive. (Writers' lives are interesting.) I want to say two things today. One: Emotions play a part in how productive you can be. But you should not let your emotions tell you how productive you have been. Two: And also today I will talk a little bit about scheduling. A period of rest helps you to be more productive. In this episode we just started looking at the big picture. Things will get more exciting as we continue to look at the bigger and bigger picture. (And I hope I put energy into writing something good.) When it comes to productivity it is great if you can say: "At least I haven't wasted as much time as some people I know." But how much time did you waste? What did you do with your time? Were you productive with the time that God gave you? God loves you and He has big plans for your life. "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." - Psalms 127:1 KJV "Before you can start being productive in a week, you need to start being productive with your days. But before you can start being productive with your days, you need to know what God's purpose and plan is for your life. One you know that then you can start accomplishing more than the day to day activities." Just a few days ago one month ended and another month started. Time flies. But we should not allow time to fly right by us without accomplishing anything. The Productive Hour Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive hour. You can do much more in an hour than you can in a minute. But there are only 24 hours in a day. ---------------- Well that is I wrote, but I talk about the productive hour for about 10 minutes!
The Productive Minute
Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here with another blog post about being productive. Today I will be talking about the productive minute. You can do much more in a minute than you can in a second. What are some things you can do in a minute? You can pray. You can read the Bible. I know those two things may not sound like the most productive things on the earth. But they are. In the Bible, we are commanded to pray without ceasing. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much(James 5:16). So yes prayer is something you can do in a minute. But it is also something that should last longer than a minute. And Bible reading is also something that is important and reading your Bible should be considered a productive use of your time. Definitely, it is something you can and should do for a few minutes each day. But if you can it would even be better if you could spend about an hour a day or more reading the Bible. I know I don't. You can think about being productive. I know this blog post may not have been as good as the first blog post on productivity. But that is ok. I have some good stuff coming about productivity. I have been thinking about it a lot in the last few weeks and will continue to think about it for the next few weeks. I think that thinking about productivity can be a first step to becoming more productive. And sure spending some time thinking about productivity is good, but don't spend all your time thinking. Thinking should lead to actions. "Wasting a lot of time starts by wasting a small amount of time." Rainy Day Reality Check Hi, my name is N.C.R. (and I am here at the Hillview cemetery with another cemetery reflection). When is the last time you have had a reality check? Life is short, but it is long enough to experience things like rain. It can't always be nice out. And life is short, but it is long enough to do a reality check. Where are you? Who are you? Who are you becoming? Where are you headed? Three tips for going through hardships Experiencing hardships and pain is hard. Finding the strength to go through them is even harder. Here are three tips for going to hardships: 1. Know that God loves you. 2. Know that God has a plan for you. Pain and hardships may have not been a part of God's original plan for you. But God knows how to take pain and hardships and turn them into something good. 3. Know that God will go through it with you. Another comforting thing to know as you go through hardships and pain is that God is with you. He is not just by your side when life is easy. He walks by your side even when life is hard. And in fact, he might even carry you in his arms when life is hard. I probably say this better in the video, though in the video I say to read this blog post! Reality Check Definition:"Reality Check: an occasion on which one is reminded of the state of things in the real world." - https://www.lexico.com/definition/reality_check
"Reality Check: A word or phrase used to bring a person back into the life of those around them, sometimes used to smash hopes and dreams." - https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=reality%20check The Productive Second Hi my name is N.C.R. and I am here with a special series from the SunShining. The productive series. Today I will be talking about the productive second. When I first got the idea for this series I thought I would start it with talking about the hour. But I decided to start this series with talking about the second So what does a productive second look like? What can you even do with one second? We start things in one second that continue to other seconds. And it is seconds that make up minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, seasons, years, and lives. What does being productive look like? What does being productive look mean? I don't want to repeat myself in future blog posts. But this being the first one on productivity I should probably tell you what I think it is. Being productive looks like getting more accomplished than just the day to day activities. It looks like accomplishing what you were put on this Earth to do. Sometimes when I am talking about a certain topic I like to look and see how the dictionary defines it. According to the dictionary the word productive is an adjective. One of my favorite definitions from the dictionary is "achieving or producing a significant amount or result". To be productive requires you to accomplish more than just the day to day activities. (Will talk more about this when I talk about the productive day.) Also another thing I want to add here is that there would be no productivity. No purpose. No value. No meaning. And no reason. If there was no God. And because there would be no productivity without God, I think it is safe to assume that much of what it means to be productive comes from God. God has a plan for you. He put you on this earth for a reason. And like I said before and I will say again, being productive looks like accomplishing what you were put on this earth to do. Well that is probably enough today, I am just going to close with some... Questions to help you think: What would it look like if all our seconds were productive? Do you know what you were put on this earth to do? Do you know the one who gives meaning to productivity? And here is the lastest cemetery reflection: (Watch it to find out how it relates to this blog post) Cemetery Reflections: Can I do this from the comfort of my home? Hi, it's me N.C.R. again here at the Hillview Cemetery with another "Cemetery Reflection". (I thought the message of today's Cemetery Reflection was so good I would write it down, and I am writing it down from the comfort of my home. By the way happy monday, how are you planning to use your week?) Last friday when I was at the cemetery it was raining. So I didn't get out of my vehicle, and I didn't record anything. But thoughts like I could just sit in my vehicle and record or I could record this at home were going through my head. I think too often we do the same thing with God. Sometimes serving God is easy(But I can't think of a single time when serving God is easy). Sometimes it may be raining out when God asks us to do something. I think the question we ask ourselves is: "Can I do this from the comfort of my home?" Or something similar to that. We try to see what we can get away with. We try to see what is the least we can do. Instead we should try to see what is the most we can do. We should be asking ourselves questions like: How far am I willing to go for God? How much am I willing to do for God? How committed am I to God? How much do I love God? Life is too short to live a half hearted life for God. I do not know who you are. Maybe you are someone who grew up in a christian home. I encourage you to examine your life. Because life is long enough to live a wholehearted life for God.
