The Crazy Pie Just a while ago I made the mistake of calling a pie crazy. Immediately people started saying things like: "The pie is no crazier than your." Or "The pie is not crazy, its you." The cook was especially defensive for her pie. That little experience made me think. One Thing About Name Calling One thing that people do when they are a little mad at something they call it a name. One thing that is a little silly is that when you call a thing a bad name hardly anyone agrees with you, they know that you're just a little mad was why you did it. One thing that is a little annoying is that when you call other people bad names, there are a few who may agree with you. One thing that is true, is that you are far better than any thing, if you a human being you are made in the image of God, and made by God, who never makes mistakes. One thing that is similar between all makers is that they are proud of what they have made, and they don't like anyone to call it a bad name.(God is proud of you and doesn't like it when others call you a bad name.) One thing you never do is call others bad names. One thing that you should not do is let what others say about you affect you. And as always: One thing you should do is think a while about what you have just read here on the SunShining blog. Verses About God being our maker: Proverbs 14:31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. Proverbs 17:5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished. Proverbs 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all. One thing you should know is that you are more valuable than many sparrows. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Who you really are I want to start by calling myself all the worst names I have either heard others been called, called others, or been called. I am a big old idiot. A white niger. A ball of trash, a "dumb ball" so to speak. Fully retarded, and completely stupid. Unfortunately, I can't think of more, probably because I am stupid, but I know there are more out there. Now I will take a break from calling myself all these names and share something interesting with you. Did you know that no matter what you call a rock, a rock is still a rock? You could call a rock a flower, but is it? And by calling another name does that change what it is? No. One of the many reasons that we continue to call a rock a rock is so we can all know what we are talking about and understand each other. So I just want to summarize this paragraph by saying that a thing is what it is no matter what it is called. For people who get called names I just want to say, you are who you are and what you are, don't let anybody's name-calling affect you. Who you really are: You are in the image of God You are Created by God (God does not create anything with even the slightest imperfecties.) You are a masterpiece You are a jewel You are a priceless treasure You are unique and special You are terrific. You are amazing. You are awesome. You are wonderful. You are splendid. There are so many good things out there that you are. And it is so sad that they are not more widely broadcasted.
