Waiting
That line from one of the last episodes of Cemetery Reflections about being productive. The line about multitasking. "Is multitasking do too much at the same time, or is it doing too much with too little time?" Really amazing and inspirational question. Really makes you think. But that is not really what I want to talk about today. Today I want to talk about waiting. Right now I am just struggling with waiting. (And for what I don't really know.) Waiting for inspiration to write. Waiting for God to tell me what to do with my life or what to write. As I am thinking about waiting there is a lyric going through my head about waiting: "I will worship while I'm waiting." I love worshiping God. But also while I am waiting I am keeping myself busy. One of the biggest things I am working on it SunBible. And it is keeping me really busy. And I am starting to wonder if the reason the wait is so long is because I am so busy. If I cleared my schedule up so that I would be ready for what God wants for me, then maybe I wouldn't be waiting so long. As a writer waiting is a part of my life. I guess waiting is a part of everyone's life. But for the last little while(About a few years), I feel like I have been going through a dry season. And I have been waiting for the energy to write. I have been waiting for the inspiration to write. I have been waiting for the time to write. I have been waiting for the courage to write. (And now that COVID-19 has changed the world, I am waiting for a time when I can do book signing events.) Well, I don't want to make this piece all about me and my writing. So I will share a bit about waiting Waiting is ok, it can even be good. There are verses in the Bible about waiting. And while you are waiting you have time to think and process things. But waiting can be a waste of time if not used right. Tips for using waiting right:
This is a really big one for Christian writers because our inspiration comes from God. But also worshiping God while you are waiting is a great thing to do for anybody. 3. While you are waiting - pray Prayer is important all the time. But prayer is especially important while waiting. 4. While you are waiting - know that you are waiting Waiting can be hard at times because you feel like you are not accomplishing anything. If you are waiting, then wait. And don't feel guilty if you are not accomplishing anything. 5. While you are waiting - make yourself available I am not a professional at waiting. I like to keep myself busy. But while I am waiting I need to make myself available. Available for what I am waiting for. And just available to other people. This is something I need to work on. I hope you enjoyed this little piece on waiting. I just want to close by saying that even when you can't see it God is working. And while you are waiting things are happening. While you are waiting things are changing, you are changing. While you are waiting don't get discouraged. God's got big plans for you. Enjoy your waiting.
